Everyone likes to talk, at least a little. And, everyone has an
opinion, sometimes it's worthwhile, sometimes not. When starting
a home business, word of mouth is one the most effective marketing
tools available, and the best part is it's FREE. Getting the word
out about your business, your products and your opportunity is going
to propel you to the success your desire. One method of spreading
the word is participating in forums.

The growth of the internet is really powerful and it's still growing
at an amazing rate. Using forums as a marketing tool is virtually
unlimited because it gives you access to a global market. There are
thousands of forums to choose from and finding one that has
participants from your target market or niche is simple with just a
search. Once you've found several, explore them and find one you're
comfortable with. Then simply register and start talking.

Once you've registered, find a thread that's peaks your interest and
post. However, the key to using forums successfully is through
adding value. You do this by actually participating in conversations
and posting your opinions or advice. You cannot just enter a forum
thread and promote your business. That would turn readers off and
ruin your credibility immediately. It's essential to view this as
a process of gaining trust with other participants, thus building
your credibility and ultimately introducing interested prospects to
your products or opportunity. Remember, every time you post, you
create a link back to your website through your signature file. Your
sig file will be there indefinitely where prospects can access your
website far into the future.

Forum participation has actually two advantages. The first of course
is getting the word out about your business. The second, and
possibly even more advantageous than the first, is education. Often
by reading various threads, you will pick up some really great
information that can be applied directly to your business. Access
to new ideas on creating success in your business will keep you ahead
of the curve. So, find a forum, post your opinions, feed your mind
and finally, have fun.
